Hyderabad, Jan 10, 2015: Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Saturday informed that tenders for at least 50 per cent of the tanks to be revived under Mission Kakatiya project would be called by January 25.
Speaking to media persons here after holding a video-conference with District Collectors at the State Secretariat here, Harish Rao said that the State Government has expedited the process of calling the tenders so as to complete the project as scheduled. He said massive awareness campaign would be launched across the State by involving schools and Gram Sabhas. He said that the government aims to take up revival of 9,300 tanks this year.
The
minister also sought Central assistance for the Mission Kakatiya.
Further, he said huge funds were due to the State under various Central
schemes. He said that the NABARD has been urged to grant Rs 1,000 crore
loan for Mission Kakatiya scheme.
